Hey, lovelies.
I’m slowly starting to incorporate more of my girl mode into my normal boy mode life. And lately, shapewear has been playing a bigger role in that. Just to try it out, I grabbed a simple Maidenform waist cincher from Walmart—and honestly? I kind of love it.
It helps me feel a little more snatched and feminine throughout the day. And it really helps with my posture. That part alone has been a big deal for me.
But Friday? We hit a snag.
The outfit I wore that day made the cincher’s clasps super obvious. Like, visibly poking through my shirt kind of obvious. And since I walk during my lunch breaks, throwing on a second shirt wasn’t going to work—I’d melt. So I needed a better solution.

Enter: The Camisole
After a little Googling, I learned about camisoles. And okay—this is going to sound silly—but I didn’t actually know that’s what they were for. I’ve heard the words “cami” or “camisole” tossed around forever, but I guess I just never really put it together. So this was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me.
If you’re not familiar, a camisole is a soft, sleeveless undershirt—usually lightweight and stretchy. It smooths out your silhouette and hides little things like cincher clasps or bra lines. And best of all? It still breathes.
I ended up picking up a Maidenform camisole from Walmart too. Just a simple one—no lace, no padding. I wanted it to pass as a regular tank top in case it peeked out under my shirt.
Tried it on at home and? Problem solved. The clasps were hidden, my shape was smooth, and it didn’t add any extra heat. If anything, it made the cincher feel more comfortable.
Final Thoughts
This might sound like a tiny win, but it’s moments like this that make me feel more confident navigating daily life while blending my femme side into the mix. So if you’ve been rocking shapewear and run into the same issue—grab yourself a cami, baby. It’s a game changer.

Right?! It felt like this whole secret world just opened up and I was like… how did I not know this?? 😂 I thought camis were just cute little layering pieces—did not realize they were basically femme shapewear MVPs. Total game changer.
